We are being asked regularly for far sided pedestrian signals as opposed to near sided. Whilst I appreciate that national guidance is for nearside signals, I'd appreciate the opinions of the forum on current client preferences.
Low ped flow crossings I would always put nearsides due to the proven safety benefits of puffin crossings (as long as you use the full detection suite).
For crossings with busy ped flows, like in city centre, its got to be far sided. Im not comfortable with having throngs of peds where only a couple of people can see the signal...
