The annual Highways Magazine Excellence Awards spotlight products and services demonstrating excellence and innovation. IHE President, Susan Broadaway, then Tony Sharp chaired the Judges Panel in 2007 and 2008. Other judges include representatives from the Highways Agency, DfT, Northern Ireland, Transpoirt Scotland and the Welsh Assembly.

Since 2008, the IHE Employer of the Year Award showcases excellence in training and development.

IHE and Highways co-sponsor an annual highway maintenance conference in April/May in the South Midlands.
